The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland is currently looking for tutors for the 2025 Identiplant course, especially in Herts and Middlesex.

Tutors should have strong local botanical knowledge and survey experience, as well as teaching ability and an encouraging attitude, in order to support students through the Identiplant course materials. No formal qualifications however, are required. Tutors receive a fee for each student they take on for the course.

The course runs through a full flowering season (Feb-Oct), and takes beginner students through a complete introduction to 'serious' botany. It focuses on developing observational skills, teaching terminology, how to identify botanical features, recognise family and specific characteristics and use keys.
